According to Spanish publications, La Porte has long been prepared to welcome one of soccer's most recognizable figures back to Barcelona, and there may be movement in Spain to make an agreement since Messi's term with Paris Saint-Germaine expires on June 30.
The Argentina World Cup champion may return to Barcelona as a free agent, but he will probably demand a high salary.
